February 28 is World Rare Disease Day

Today is World Rare Disease Day. Before Liam, our 1 year old grandson, we didn’t even know there was such an event celebrated to help create awareness for the need for continued research and funding for research to help those suffering from rare diseases and conditions.

Because of Liam we now know about things like craniopharangioma (brain tumor), panhypopituitarianism (PHP, meaning no functioning pituitary gland), adrenal insufficiency (AI) which affects less than 200,000 in the entire US population, diabetes insipidus (condition affecting the body’s ability to regulate it’s water) and Rare Disease Day. Take a moment today to think about or pray for all those in your lives who have rare diseases & conditions and consider donating to the cause.
